The Dolce & Gabbana ss13 collection was like a Sicilian granita refreshing & fruity.
At the center of the collection lies the t-shirt easy to wear, quick casual but also chic and in warm places.
Trousers & shorts are developed in three waist fits for the former & two for the latter. Trousers are either clarically tailored, or high-waisted w/ double or single pleats the hems are rigorously cut above the ankle shorts are developed in two styles, both w/ high waists, one version is short & the other is slightly longer but made voluminous w/ a crafty play of pleats & cuts.
The polo also plays an important role to the collection, renovated & constructed w/ either linen gauze, a crochet, it symbolizes that old world casual elegance that characterized many items of the collection.
Prints are important to D&G & in recent season they've enjoyed a sort of rebirth.
Shirts are essential items in the collection. Design w/ a 1980's style open flat collar.
Blazers made of wool twill mixed w/ georgette or organza & even satin, these blazers are intricately deconstructed & feather light.
The weave leather sandals & typical Sicilian footwear take on a new life in the D&G ss12 collection. Stone-washed, waxed & distressed. The humble sandal is reincarnated in a beautiful & exquisitely detailed & hiighly reusable must have item. Vintage travel bags inspire the accesssories such as bags, satchel & rigid suitcases. Soap leather mixed w/ linen & aged metal hardware give the impression of a family of heirloom.
